Marianne Raynaud’s Presentation on Enhancing Student Creativity (Articles about Marianne’s work)

Marianne Raynaud spoke of the courses she has designed that aim to maximize "student speaking time" while making the most of the students’ own "creativity". She explained how to organize a film activity for ESL students and as well as introductions, projects presentations, seminars and "brain training sessions".

Techniques to Improve Student Participation in ESL Classes (Articles about Marianne’s work)

Marianne Raynaud gave examples of intensive pair work for ESL classes and showed how to get the students to participate orally for at least 45 minutes out of each hour by increasing individual speaking time. Some of the examples she gave (spelling, numbers, frequent mistakes, socializing etc.) can be found under the heading "Free 1st Year Teaching Materials" on this site. Others like project examples can be found on her DVD "QualityTime-ESL: The Digital Resource Book".
